I first saw Mr. Cunningham in "The Little Princess" and thought he was wonderful. Then it was "First Knight" and more recently the movie about Orson Wells.
I've always wanted to know more about him and finally found this wonderful site!
I hope he gets the recognition he deserves!
Thanks for the great site!

Just checking out your site after returning from visiting my Irish boyfriend in Dublin (also named Liam coincidentally). I saw Cunningham about 4 years ago in an episode of the Cracker series & in Jude & was really impressed but never saw him in anything else until watching him in Sweetie Barrett on video at my boyfriend's & being informed that he's really well known over there. I did manage to catch Falling for a Dancer & A Love Divided there--admittedly neither is the kind of thing I usually go for--I prefer him in edgier fare--but I thought he was very good in both & I'll certainly continue to watch this space. I must say that he's lucky to have such nice--literate!--ladies tending a website just for him--there are so many really skanky sites out there. He should be proud. I'm also amused that several of you noticed the resemblance to Jason Isaacs (in the bulletin board)--I saw Isaacs in Event Horizon a couple of years back & totally thought it was Cunningham. They could be brothers. I'm also blown away to find out that Cunningham is a Formula One fan just like my boyfriend! We were at Silverstone in April though the experience was marred by terrible weather & lousy EXPENSIVE seats. So Mr. C., if you ever monitor your own website--& I bet you do--how about letting Tami know where the good seats are so she can post it on the site??

I first saw Liam in that one English mystery series that used to air on A&E. He performed so well with a very young actor. I've seen First Knight, but he didn't shine in such a small role.

I have been informed by my cousin Bob Cloney that we are related to the characters portrayed in the film. He sent me the story prior to our knowing of the film. We are in contact with our relatives overseas to see if we can get a copy here or purchase one that our machines could handle in the US. The site is beautiful and well presented. I wish we could get more of your films here in the states. Thanks

I agree wholeheartedly with Alice from Massachusetts who said that Cunningham's role in Falling For a Dancer was the one that made her sit up and take notice. I had also seen some of his previous work but had not remembered him. I watched Falling for a Dancer three times in the last week. That'll do me for the next 10 years but I couldn't seem to see enough of that character. Now I am intrigued and will certainly take another look at former work as well as keeping a keen eye out for anything new that might become available to me in my area. East Lansing is not the cultural center of the universe and our only art film house closed a couple of years back. I very much appreciate you site. It provided exactly what I needed in the form of a filmography of Liam's Cunningham's work. I also had to laugh at the title. It certainly captured the jist of how I came to be a fan. Thanks again.

I found this site by typing in the keywords A Little Princess. I'm not a Liam Cunningham fan, as such. I think A Little Princess is one of the best classic children's books, but the film is even better! I'm glad they gave it an even happier ending than in the book. I love hte Indian scenes too; and Lottie was so cute! I treasure it in my video collection!

I've visited your wonderful site many times in the last few months (since seeing Falling for a Dancer on the Romance Classics Channel here in the Boston area) and decided I should sign your guest book to compliment you on your thoroughly researched, well laid-out and easy to navigate LC site. The home page is simple and elegant with the perfect picture of Mr. Cunningham--quiet, handsome and brooding. I especially like the filmography pages with all those great pictures from the film/TV/minis plus the bonus of the "Liam Review" following the general review. The links to other reviews immediately following are much appreciated, too. Having gone through the list of Mr. Cunningham's work, I realized that I had already seen most of his available (in the USA) films, but somehow, the one role (in this case Mossie Sheehan) makes you sit up and take notice enough to want to go back and re-view all his other works -- which I am in the process of doing now. Luckily, my 9-year old son loves "War of the Buttons" so I am only too happy to watch it with him and I'm trying to talk him into seeing "A Little Princess". Now if there were only some way of getting hold of "Undercurrent" and the British TV series Liam was in --very frustrating for us fans in the USA. Congrats again on a fabulous site that you should be proud of and I'm sure Mr. Cunningham is pleased with as well.

I was in Ireland and happened on Liam Cunningham in Streetcar Named Desire......well all I can say this man has some cheek to call himself a professional actor. His rendition of Stanley Kwaloski was hilarious....most of the row I was sitting in were giggling every time he spoke.I doubt very much if an equally miscast Ms. McDormond knew what she was letting herself in and in a tv interview i saw she said her time in Ireland was not the "greatest experience she ever had". I'll say!!!!!!There is such
rubbish written about actors whose profession I greatly respect but having read an interview he gave in the Irish
Times it is certain that Mr. Cunningham is an arrogant fraud
who can count himself very lucky to be in regular work. I also caught him recently in First Knight and Little Princess , Love Divided .......more of the same .....he must have a great agent or whatever it is that actors use to get themelves work . Overall the theatre and film work that I am familar with from Ireland is of a very poor standard indeed.Mr Cunningham should stay well clear of the theatre.......has he ever tried Hollywood?

He was even kind enough to sign a postcard-photo for me, a still from THE HERBAL BED w/Joe Fiennes, although unfortunately, that play was sold out. To confirm your estimated dates of one of Liam's stage appearances, we produced A Handful of Stars and Poor Beast in the Rain at the Bush Theatre in November and December of 1992. They were presented in repertory with a third Billy Roche play, Belfry, under the collective title of The Wexford Trilogy.
We then took the productions to Wexford and to the Peacock Theatre, Dublin in January of 1993.
The productions were filmed for the BBC and broadcast in August 1993.

- Having watched Shooting the Past, I
couldnt not comment on the quality of
acting, especially that of Liam Cunningham.
Both Liam and the story were thoroughly
spellbinding, (and at time very sexy) and
although it doesnt have the happy ending
for the main protagonists - despite all the
sexual tension displayed over the last two weeks
which of course we all wanted to be resolved, it
still remain a brilliant piece of drama.
However, I have to tell you there is a big shock
for Anderson played by Liam, as Marilyn unfolds
one of the most extraordinary stories about his
past. A must watch for all Liam fans, if only to
watch his dark brooding character.

- Lesley, you lucky girl. How do you do it?
So did you have an interesting talk with him and
did he say anything you might like to share with
us, apart from what you wrote already?
And those photos you have, are they
"scannable" at all? I'd love to see
them.
Sigh, going back in front of the telly tomorrow,
that's all I can do until MY lucky day may one
day arrive...
But thanks for telling us about it.

- Hi!
Just found this site...really good work. I met
Liam last week in Birmingham UK at an Irish
Dinner Party. I was sat opposite him and thought
I recognised him but wasnt too sure! It wasn't
until we got chatting I realised he was in a
series which ran over here about 3 years ago
called Roughnecks. Great programme about Oil
riggers in the North Sea, don't know if anyone
else has seen it. I had no idea he had been in
all these films, I will have to get down to the
video store this weekend! I had a few pictures
taken with him at the party and he is a great
dancer.
Regards
Lesley (cold UK)

- Liam and all the cast of Falling for a Dancer are
excellent. I was just in Ireland and was totally
captivated by the beauty as well!

- Tami,
It still keeps getting better and better. Good
job! Keep
up the good work. Also, I got a copy of the
Cracker episode
from work the other day. I had not seen it in
like three years.
If you're interested in a copy just e-mail me.
:) Great Page!
-Shannon
P.S. I hope to have my page completed by the end
of this week,
including a good plug for the FFAS.

- I have been going crazy looking for any
information on "Falling for a Dancer"
since I saw it just before Christmas.
Thank you for this wonderful website! I would do
anything to get a copy of the movie since I
didn't have the good sense to tape it.

- I'm so happy to have finally discovered a page on
Liam on the web.
I completely fell for the man when I saw him in
Falling for a Dancer last september in the BBC.
The very first weekend I ran out and bought every
film on video that had him in it, that I could.
So in that first weekend I watched Little
Princess, Jude and First Knight. And two weeks
later a collegue from work went to London and got
me Falling for a Dancer on video!
What an exciting time!
Three days ago the first part of Shooting the
past was shown on the BBC. Still have two more
Sundays to go, with the videorecorder earning its
keep.
By the way, I wrote to the Irish Film Institute
and they sent me a filmography which mentioned
films called Undercurrent (1995), Heaven only
knows (1992), Public Toilet (1992), Sell Out
(1993). Has anyone ever heard of or seen these
films?
Greeting,

- I agree with everyone's comments-he is a
wonderful actor and I am eagerly waiting for new
work. I first saw The Little Princess and wasn't
able to rest until I purchased all the videos of
his movies I could find.

- I had signed the guestbook earlier in such a
rush, that I did not get a chance to say how
extremely talented Liam Cunningham is. Like this
website's creator said, that it is all in his
eyes. Liam ca truely express what his character
is feeling. Oh how I wish I could see him on
stage...ROADTRIP! Liam is so brilliant. I do not
understand how Liam could be so talented, but so
unknown. I guess that's our job, to spread the
word. :)
Ta-ta for now Liam admirees,

- I had heard the name Liam Cunningham but never
seen any of his work until Falling for a Dancer.
Now, clearly, Elisabeth Dermot-Walsh is beautiful
and talented, but for ladies, the draw of the
series is Cunningham. The two leads had
chemistry--essential--and were physically well
matched. But Cunningham's performance was the
electric current running through each episode.
And that he did it quietly, contained, made it
that much more riveting.
I think his strong points in FFAD are: the voice
and the accent, which were at times--as in his
declaration of love--musical and almost
hypnotizing. The eyes: Pretty important in that
his character did a lot of staring. And a clear,
transparent skin, so that his face was an
emotional play of paleness and color.
Sarah Purcell's dialog was good and strong, but
Cunningham made it better than the director or
screenwriter could have hoped for. He reminds me
of the old-time movie stars of Hollywood--a Clark
Gable or a Cary Grant--in that he completely
fulfills the woman's fantasy. Fantastic. I'm
looking forward to seeing a lot more of
Cunningham.

- Hello! Thanks for the wonderful site on Liam! I
had despaired of ever finding anything on the web
about him. I saw Liam in "First Knight"
and "The Little Princess" and knew I
wanted to find out more! Thanks for the great
photo, too!

- This is probably the most beautiful site I've
ever seen! Not only are the graphics fabulous,
but the pictures that were chosen are incredible.
Now, on to Liam! What a man!!! He first caught my
attention in Little Princess, and seeing FFAD
made me fall for HIM in a big way! I'm so glad
there's a site that is devoted to the fine actors
there are out there, actors that maybe are not
"superstars" but are driving some of us
wild! Thanks-- I'll be back...often:)

- Tami, since you visited my page on Charles Dance
I thought I should return the favor. Although I'm
not familiar with Liam Cunningham, I'm impressed
with the excellent work you've done on this
homepage for him. I wish you great success with
your stunning site, and hope you find many new
friends to share your 'affliction' with as I
have!
